Series II consists primarily of correspondence and self-study reports relating to the review and certification of existing and proposed academic programs. Included among the programs examined in these reports are the College of Business Accounting and Business Administration programs and a proposal for a joint Masters of Public Health Program. The correspondence documents exchanges between the President's Office, the university community, and the public concerning topics such as the achievements and honors of alumni, OSU athletics, statewide political measures, and the coordination of special events on campus. Series V consists of correspondence and meeting minutes from Oregon State System of Higher Education and university committees, including the President's Cabinet, an advisory committee of OSU administrators and deans formed by Risser in 1996. The subject files document the President's Office interaction with the various colleges and departments of the university, as well as relations with the Oregon University System (OUS), Oregon State government, and Corvallis/Benton County. These records pertain primarily to administrative issues and the university's public image, covering such topics as: fundraising campaigns, student enrollment, budget model restructure, marketing, and statewide political measures. Series VI documents Risser's involvement on committees, councils, and boards of national and state-level educational organizations not affiliated directly with OSU. Included among the organizations represented in this series are: Association of State Universities and Land Grant Colleges, the School Transformation Advisory Council, and the Certificate of Advanced Mastery State Advisory Committee.
